A Romanian gang which carried out a pre-Christmas shoplifting raid in Coleraine has had sentence deferred after a judge asked to see if they had any criminal records in their homeland, a court has been told.
Three Romanians admitted stealing shoes, coats and jeans from four stores on December 12 last year.
At Coleraine Magistrates Court earlier this month the defendants, Alina Cirpacill (26), Anca Cirpaciu (19) and Teresa Nicula (35) admitted theft.
The address for all three was given as Barrack Street, Coalisland, County Tyrone.
They were each released on their own bail and are banned from entering Coleraine except for court.
A fourth person in the case – Cosmin Micula (26) – had been charged with stealing a £40 coat but had the charge withdrawn.
The men are on £400 bail and are banned from entering Coleraine
