The number of Romanians and Bulgarians applying for UK citizenship has rocketed by 42%.

Number of foreign workers applying for UK citizenship rockets over Brexit fears

FOREIGN workers are applying to become British amid fears they could be forced to leave if we quit the EU.

The number of Romanians and Bulgarians applying for UK citizenship has rocketed by 42%.

Hungarian and Polish applications have leapt by 39% and 38% respectively.

The jump has been fuelled by fears Britain will vote to leave the EU in the referendum on June 23.

Almost three million EU nationals live in Britain, but they must have lived here for six years before being eligible to apply for citizenship.
