A GROUP of Romanian beggars sleeping rough in Britain’s poshest area today demanded: „Give us a house and we’ll go away.”
The poverty-stricken vagrants made the shock ultimatum after repeated attempts to clear them away from super-rich Park Lane, west London.
Around 40 Romanians have set up camp in the district, living in cardboard boxes and sleeping on soiled mattresses.
They have been accused of scaring locals and tourists off by brawling and urinating in public.
And yesterday one homeless woman, who refused to give her name said: „We are from Romania.
„We are in the European Union. We need help with a house. Give us a house and we won’t be here.”
Her plea came nearly two years after the area first became a hotspot for poor Romanians.
And they have been allowed automatic entry to Britain since the start of this year.
