Aoleo, romanii vor invada Sussex. Councillors fears Romanians will flood Crawley

HOUSING FEARS: Councillor Liam Marshall-Ascough is concerned about "an influx" of Romanians and Bulgarians to Crawley A COUNCILLOR who fears an "influx" of Bulgarians and Romanians moving to Crawley next year is calling for stricter rules for the town’s housing waiting list.

Liam Marshall-Ascough believes the existing rule that someone has to live in Crawley for only six months before they can join the housing register and be considered for social housing is too lenient.

He has concerns about the amount of people already on the council’s housing waiting list and is worried the town could be put under even more pressure when the restrictions on Bulgarian and Romanian migration are lifted in January.

Bulgaria and Romania joined the EU in 2007 but restrictions on the kind of jobs their citizens could take in Britain were put in place.
