Romanian gypsy singer Ionita Manole with his friend Johnny Depp

Ramona Manole’s father Ionita Manole is a member of a bestselling Romanian band who have appeared in Hollywood films.

He counts movie star Johnny Depp as a friend.

However, Ramona, 20, who is also a singer, is estranged from her father and is now playing accordion on the streets of Britain’s capital.

She says: “What I earn here in one day I wouldn’t make in Romania in a week. I make about £60 per day.”

Ionita, 40, from Clejani, near Bucharest, was in a relationship with Ramona’s mother Viorica for seven years.

They eventually married, but a short while later split up. Viorica said: “Her father gives Ramona nothing. When she told him she didn’t even have enough money to feed her children, he gave her £60 and that was that.
