Ryanair will open a new base in the Romanian city of Timisoara, which will be the airline’s 78th base and first in Romania.
The low-cost carrier will introduce seven new routes, including services to Stansted, from November 2016 as part of the deal with the airport in western Romania. Timisoara is Romania’s third biggest city.
The other new routes from Timisoara will be Berlin, Brussels Charleroi, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt Hahn and Milan Bergamo. New flights to the Romanian capital Bucharest will also operate on a double-daily basis.
Ryanair’s chief commercial officer David O’Brien said: “Our double daily Timisoara-Bucharest service will be ideal for both business and leisure customers and we look forward to growing routes, traffic, jobs and tourism in Romania.”
